DIRECTOR STATEMENT: As someone who has been involved in underground punk music for many years as a bandmate, tour driver, promoter and show goer, I wanted to create something reflecting on exactly what drew me into these spaces and kept me there: a place to belong.

As I "grow-up" and ultimately, grow away from music being my main life line, I wanted to create my final love letter to DIY, my last hurrah as a prominent member of the music scene. I decided to make it a documentary so that others could see and understand what DIY music is, what it means to me, and why bands play to 40 people in small venues, sleep on living room floors and tour for next to nothing in return.

"ONE MORE SONG" was made in a very DIY way: by leaning into existing relationships for help and by creating something out of scraps of footage and photos found here and there, provided by a world spread community. A majority of the crew and production team behind the scenes are currently involved in, or have roots in music - this aspect was important to the producer, Kirsten White, and I.

This short doc is a reflection of my experiences in DIY and memories that I could never recreate but will always cherish.
